BYLAWS

Adopted XXXXXXXXXX XX, 1993

Purpose Statement Amended 6/2/2001

ARTICLE I

Name

The legal incorporated name of this organization is Families for Bible Memory.

ARTICLE II

Statement of Faith

  1. We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God and completely inerrant in the original writings. They are the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and living.
  1. We believe that there is one true God who eternally exists in three persons -- Father, Son and Holy Spirit -- the same in essence and equal in power and glory.
  1. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His Virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His vicarious death by which we have redemption through His blood, in His bodily resurrection, and in His ascension to the right hand of the Father.
  1. We believe that man was created innocent and in the image of God, but that he sinned and thereby brought upon himself and all his posterity not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which results in eternal separation from the presence of God.
  1. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, according the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice. All who place their faith in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood. Salvation is by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, without any regard to human merit.
  1. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, and His ascension into heaven, and His present life for us as our High Priest and Advocate.
  1. We believe in the personality and the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling and infilling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We believe that the sign gifts of tongues and healings have ceased.
  1. We believe in the universal Church, which is made up of all of the redeemed (those baptized by the Holy Spirit into the Body of Christ from the Day of Pentecost to the Rapture), and in local churches as delineated in the New Testament Epistles.
  1. We believe in the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ for His Church, and in His personal return to earth to establish His kingdom in power and righteousness with great glory.
  1. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and the lost: the saved to everlasting blessedness and the lost to everlasting conscious punishment.
